Aluminium Doors in Abu Dhabi

Sliding, hinged, bi-fold and frameless-look aluminium doors, made and fitted by our own team. A door gets used all day, every day — so the hardware inside it matters at least as much as the profile you can see.

A Door Is a Moving Part, Not a Panel

A window opens now and then. A door gets pushed, pulled and leaned on dozens of times a day, often by someone carrying something. That changes what matters. The extrusion is almost never what fails — it is the rollers, the hinges, the locking gear and the threshold that decide whether your door still glides in five years or drags, drops and rattles.

ROLLERS & TRACKS

On a slider, the roller carriage carries the whole weight of the sash across a track that collects sand all year. Stainless or hardened nylon rollers in a drained track survive that. Unbranded pressed rollers wear flat and the door starts to drag.

HINGES & PIVOTS

A big hinged door puts all its weight on two or three points. Under-size the hinges and the leaf slowly drops, which throws the lock out of line and lifts the seal off the frame.

MULTI-POINT LOCKING

One central lock pulls the door tight in one spot and leaves the top and bottom free to bow away. Multi-point gear grabs at several heights — better security, and a much better seal.

THRESHOLD

Where the door meets the floor is where water, sand and levels all argue with each other. Flush looks better and is easier to walk through; raised and drained weathers better. It is a genuine trade-off, so we will ask how you use the space.

DOOR TYPES

Which One Suits Your Opening?

01

Sliding

No swing space needed, and it handles wide openings onto terraces and balconies. It seals by brush and overlap rather than compression, so it is never the tightest option against dust and noise. Still the most popular choice for villa terraces, for good reason.

02

Hinged / casement

Closes onto a gasket and squeezes it, so it seals noticeably better than a slider. Needs clear swing space, and hinges properly sized to the leaf.

03

Bi-fold

Folds right back so almost the whole opening becomes open. Lovely on a living room that opens onto a garden. It also has more moving hardware than anything else here, which makes hardware quality the whole game.

04

Commercial entrance

Heavy-duty patch-fitted or framed glass doors on floor springs, built for constant public use. A completely different hardware class from a house door — that is the world of shopfronts.

THE GLASS

What Goes In the Frame

Glass in a door is safety glass, not decoration. People walk into doors, push on them and occasionally fall against them, so it has to break safely. Toughened glass is heat-treated to be several times stronger than ordinary annealed glass, and when it does go, it turns into blunt granules rather than long blades.

Laminated goes a step further — two panes bonded to a plastic interlayer, so the pieces stay put. It also cuts noise and blocks most UV, which is worth having if your door faces a road or a busy courtyard.

If the door opens onto air-conditioned space, the same logic as windows applies: a thermally broken profile stops the frame carrying heat straight through, and a low-E double-glazed unit brings down both the U-value and the solar gain. On a big sliding door that is a lot of glass — it is not a small decision.

TELL US THE SIZE EARLY

A large double-glazed sliding leaf can weigh well over a hundred kilos. That weight decides the roller class, the track and the frame section, so the opening size changes the quote more than the finish does.

FINISHES

Powder Coating, and What It Has To Put Up With

Powder coating is the standard finish on architectural aluminium — powder applied electrostatically and cured into a hard, even film, in effectively any RAL colour plus wood-effect and anodised looks. Out here it has two enemies. Ultraviolet fades pigment, and airborne salt and sand attack any spot where the coating has been chipped. The practical answers are a coating specified for external exposure and, honestly, not damaging it during installation.

If your project needs a particular coating class or a marine-grade specification, tell us at quote stage. We would rather confirm what we can supply for your job than make a general promise. See the rest of our aluminium work and matching aluminium windows.

WHERE WE WORK

Aluminium Doors Across Abu Dhabi

We make and fit aluminium doors for villas, apartments and commercial units. We work right across the emirate — Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Al Reef, Al Reem Island, Saadiyat Island and Yas Island.

Send us the opening width and height, whether you want sliding or hinged, and a photo of the opening as it is now. We can usually quote from that.→
01Why has my sliding door got so hard to open?

Almost always the rollers or the track. Fine sand works like sandpaper between the roller and the track until the running surface is worn flat and the door stops rolling and starts dragging. On a decent system we can replace the rollers. On a cheap one the track itself is usually the worn part, which is a bigger job.

02Sliding or hinged — which is better?

Hinged seals better, because it compresses onto a gasket when you shut it. Sliding wins when you cannot spare the swing space or the opening is too wide for a hinged leaf to make sense. If dust and noise are the problem you are trying to solve, go hinged.

03Does the glass in a door have to be toughened?

It should be. A door is something people walk into and push against, so the glazing needs to fail safely. Toughened breaks into blunt granules; laminated holds together completely. For big panes and low-level glazing this is normal safety practice rather than an upsell.

04Can you make a door to match my existing windows?

Usually, yes. Because we fabricate in our own workshop, matching a profile, a colour or a sightline is a specification question rather than a question of what someone happens to stock. Send us a photo plus a close-up of the frame section and we will tell you honestly what matches and what will only be close.

05What is a multi-point lock and do I need one?

It is locking gear that engages at several heights up the door instead of one point in the middle. On a tall or wide leaf it genuinely matters, because a single point lets the top and bottom bow away from the frame — which weakens the security and the weather seal at the same time.

06Do you install as well?

Yes, the same team that makes it fits it. On doors that matters more than on almost anything else, because how squarely the frame sits in the opening is what decides whether the leaf seals and runs properly for the next ten years.
